Want to Outshine Competitors?

It was the warmth. It was the great anticipation. Some would say it was the beer. But maybe it was something much more that drove nearly 2000 Drupalers to one place and that made us stay there longer than we were supposed to. And maybe we can find out what it was as we go along, but we are very sure about one thing – DrupalCon Munich 2012 (August 20-24) did much more than “connecting systems and people”.

Drupalcon Community

Peers, partners, competitors – this year’s DrupalCon had them all. This was the first time we sponsored DrupalCon and it’s definitely not going to be our last (we already have made plans for DrupalCon Portland 2013, May 20-24).

What magic did it spell?

Let’s start from the CXO event, which held on Monday, 20 August, 2012. The event was laden with keynotes by persons such as Bob Kerner (Chief Digital Officer of NYSE Euronext), breakouts and more. There were more than 70 Drupal enthusiasts at the events – all shared and learnt from each other’s thoughts and vision about Drupal. All lived up to the mission of all Drupalcons.

Munich was hot, in fact it was the hottest summer in the capital city of Germany to date.

But the heat couldn’t melt our enthusiasm, neither that of the other Drupal enthusiasts.

Drupalcon Photo Session
This group photo indeed immortalized every moment we spent there.

And remember we shared our excitement with you before leaving for DrupalCon?

The next day, 21 August 2012, opened with the keynote by the founder of Drupal, who’s none other than Dries Buytaert (the other keynotes as well were a remakable experience). After enjoying it, we headed to our stall S21 and had a gala time there – met some existing clients (as you can see in the picture) and made some new ones for life!

Going ahead, we would love to mention the BoFs sessions, where we spent some of our best moments and where knowledge sharing and problem-solving were at their best. Cocktails at Beer Garden generated some of the picturesque moments.

Not to miss out the last day that was completely dedicated to community sprints. Scores of Drupalers participated to work together on Drupal 8, which hasn’t been released yet, on various topics – usability, documentation etc. We are proud to actively participate in this grand occasion.

Our next expeditions

We surely have more to share about DrupalCon Munich 2012 but everything else is just ineffable. Later this year, we’re all set to participate in – and become a contributor to the success of – eCommerce expo 2012, Olympia, London (2/3 October) and Gitex Technology Week 2012, Dubai (14-18 October).
