Magento, the world’s fastest-growing eCommerce platform, is proud to announce the public launch of Magento Mobile. Few months back, the team announced the private beta program in which thousands of merchants participated and finally, they are here with the public release of Magento Mobile. Magento Mobile is feature-rich, cost-effective and easy to implement, making it ideal for both major retailers and start-up online merchants to target the rapidly growing number of mobile users.
Mobile market is attractive for entrepreneurs because it is young and the most important thing about it is that the demand is much higher than the proposition – this obviously means that you can gain huge profits. With the growth of E-Commerce, Mobile commerce also started growing at a fast pace. As a result, there is significant demand for merchants who want to mobilize their business. Today there are no strong Mobile ecommerce applications available. There arose a very critical situation when the shoppers were reday to buy online via mobile devices but there were no store owners who were ready to facilitate their buyers on this. Though Magento has provided mobile web optimized themes (WAPs) since 2008, a majority of retailers want engage their customers with the rich & personal features that only mobile apps provide. But the cost and time involved to create, deploy and manage these applications were considerably high, so it led to the need for the existence of Magento Mobile. Now this product will make thousands of merchants to easily create branded, native storefront applications that are deeply integrated with Magento’s market-leading eCommerce platform. This product includes new administrative manager, a native iPhone app that is fully customizable (colors, images, buttons, etc), and a service where Magento manages the submission and maintenance process for the iTunes App Store.
The platform launched worldwide with a variety of high-profile, market-leading brands, including The North Face, 47 Brand, The Miami Dolphins, Smart & Sexy and FLOWE
“In this mobile era, winning brands must be ‘experience enablers’ and Magento Mobile will create a cohesive and fulfilling brand experience for consumers who connect via their mobile phone – anytime, anywhere”, said Michele Scarano, The North Face EMEA.
Magento Mobile is very quick and easy to set up. You need to pay one-time setup fee of $799 and an annual maintenance fee of $699 (or $69 monthly). For more details on pricing, please visit new Magento Mobile Product Page. If I ask you that this paid feature of Magento would work in favor or against the move, what would be your opinion?
Magento project is planning to build a marketplace of extensions for each mobile device (e.g. digital coupons, augmented reality, etc.) using the similar E-Commerce extensions marketplace. Not just this, the team is also planning to launch new apps for the iPad and Android devices later this year.
So, Magento made its first move in the M-Commerce marketplace and it looks like Magento Mobile has pretty good chances to win the game in this niche if it will keep moving fast. Since it is a paid software so this thing will definitely work against the goodness of Magento Mobile. This was our review. What about you? Will you be using this mobile store application? Or do you think that there are better variants than this? Please write in your views and opinions about Magento Mobile.
