Joomla 1.6 Beta 10 Released

Joomla is one of the very few open source content management systems which has acquired a significant market shared in CMS market in such a short span of time. Though, it has large user base and fans world wide, but still it is continuously putting efforts in incorporating the latest web trends by releasing new versions and fixing up the old issues. Thus, it is making the user experience more better. Joomla 1.6 is the next generation of Joomla. The broad goals of Joomla 1.6 are to:

  1. Implement an expanded access control system
  2. Implement a nested categories solution
  3. and standardise the way extensions are built using the MVC framework.

The Joomla project team is proud to announce the immediate availability of Joomla 1.6 Beta 10. After the release of Beta 9 on 6th September 2010, the project team has fixed up 102 issues in the tracker. They have closed an additional 48 tracker issues. This must have brought an expression of excitement amongst Joomla developers. So Developers! Just see the changelog for the details. This progress is directly related to the continued efforts of the Joomla! Bug Squad. Thanks for all the hard work in bringing Joomla! one increment closer to stable!

Important Note: Since this is the beta version, it is not intended to run on any production site. It is intended to be used for evaluation purpose only.
