Even a layman would be aware of the powers of Joomla and the fact that it comes among the top three content management systems (CMS) in the world. Joomla, in a bid to extend its powers in a world where the Web is no more a desktop-only place, has recently released its latest version, Joomla 3.0. Opening new doors for all the Joomla developers and users yet again, this release focuses on enhancing the user experience of Joomla-based websites – ie nearly 3% of all the websites – and on optimizing them for all the mobile devices. The release is perhaps Joomla’s biggest.
Joomla, in its latest version, has adopted Twitter’s Bootstrap framework, which leverages responsive CSS and optimizes how content is shown on all the mobile devices. With this move, Joomla becomes the first content management system to use Bootstrap and becomes a naturally adaptive platform.
Of 15+ new features that Joomla has incorporated in its latest version, Bootstrap is the most notable, followed by the others like upgraded interface, streamlined 30-sec install, postgreSQL driver, JFeed, improved smart search etc.
Lastly, in case you have forgotten, the release of Joomla 3.1 is due this month. Let’s keep an eye out for it and behold whether or not Joomla introduces something major yet again.
