Who does what

One contact,
one proposal, two teams.

01

One point of contact, one proposal

You brief PixelCrayons once on what the team needs to do. We scope the roles and seniority mix and write a single proposal, then stay your account owner throughout.

Every engagement
02

A distributed engineering team

Engineers sourced and delivered by our sibling company ValueCoders, embedded in your tools and stand-ups, resized monthly as scope changes.

ValueCoders
03

Interview before signing

You meet the proposed engineers directly before committing, and can ask us to propose again if someone isn't the right fit.

Every hire
04

One escalation path

Status, billing coordination and escalation all run through PixelCrayons' account team, whichever company is holding the keyboard that week.

Every engagement
05

The marketing and web side, still ours

Where the engagement also needs a marketing site, a store front end or an SEO programme, that stays PixelCrayons' own work, coordinated by the same account team.

PixelCrayons
How it works

Brief to an embedded team,
one contact throughout.

01
Start

Brief and a call

We sign an NDA and you describe the roadmap and the gap; PixelCrayons scopes the roles and seniority mix the team needs.

02
Once the brief is complete

Proposal and interview

We confirm when your proposal arrives. It names each role, its seniority and an itemised monthly rate, and you interview every proposed engineer before anything is signed.

03
Your decision

You sign off

You confirm the scope, the payment and the access we need. Nothing starts before this.

04
Typically 2 to 3 business days later

The team starts

The engineers join your tools, stand-ups and roadmap, with status, billing and escalation running through PixelCrayons.

05
Every month

Scale either way

Add capacity when the backlog grows, step down when it doesn't. PixelCrayons' account team stays your single point of contact throughout.

Inside Prism

Your engagement, week to week,
in one workspace.

Prism is the client workspace where your requests, approvals, tasks and weekly reviews live.

Where the engagement includes it, your build runs in a Prism workspace you log into: requests, approvals, the task list and the weekly review, beside the repository your team already owns.

  • 01

    Requests and approvals

One queue, beside the repository your team owns.

  • 02

    Owned tasks

Every task has one owner and a date.

  • 03

    Weekly review

Each decision recorded, with the expectation attached.

How we report it, in Prism

The delivery record,
you can read without a stand-up.

What you receive in month one

Development is reported as artefacts in your own tools, not a status call. In the first month you receive the technical audit of the current codebase, the delivery plan broken into reviewed increments with acceptance criteria, and the environment map showing where code runs and who can deploy it. The weekly review in Prism lists what merged, what was reviewed, and what is blocked and by whom.

  • 01Technical audit: the current codebase, its risks, and the order of fixes
  • 02Delivery plan: increments with acceptance criteria and review owners
  • 03Environment map: development, staging and production, and who deploys
  • 04Weekly review in Prism: merged, in review, blocked, and the reason for each block
  • 05Definition of done: tests, review, accessibility and performance checks per increment

Keeping control

What you check before signing,
and what you can change after.

The team joins your roadmap, but who is in it and how large it is stay your decisions. These are the points where you make them.

  1. 01Scope the gap, not a headcountYou describe the roadmap and what is missing. We scope the roles and the seniority mix the work needs.
  2. 02Read who does whatThe proposal names each role, its seniority and an itemised monthly rate, with PixelCrayons' and ValueCoders' responsibilities stated plainly.
  3. 03Interview every engineerYou meet each proposed engineer on a video call before anything is signed. If someone is not the right fit, we propose again.
  4. 04Run it in your toolsThe team works in your tools and stand-ups. Status, billing and escalation run through PixelCrayons' account team, whichever company is holding the keyboard that week.
  5. 05Resize month by monthAdd capacity when the backlog grows and step down when it does not, with the same single point of contact throughout.

If you need one named role rather than a mixed team, the matching /hire page may be the simpler starting point.

Questions

Frequently
asked.

Our sister company ValueCoders sources and delivers them; that's their practice group-wide. PixelCrayons is your point of contact for the relationship: we scope the team, write the single proposal, and stay your account owner throughout, including for any website, store or marketing work alongside the engagement. ValueCoders is named plainly here and throughout delivery, never hidden behind our name.

Yes, it's a step in the process, not a favour. Once engineers are proposed, you meet each one on a video call before anything is signed, and can ask us to propose a replacement if someone doesn't fit.

The /hire pages staff a single named role (a React developer, a QA engineer) through PixelCrayons' own bench. This page is for a broader distributed engineering team sourced through our sibling company ValueCoders, typically a mixed-seniority team rather than one role. If you know the exact single role you need, the matching /hire page may be the simpler starting point.

One account team, for the whole relationship. ValueCoders' name and role are stated plainly in the proposal and throughout delivery, but escalation, billing coordination and status reporting all run through the same PixelCrayons account team you signed with.

There's no flat rate card: the roles, seniority mix and team size set the cost. Every proposal is scoped against your brief and itemises exactly what's included, naming which company delivers which part. Once we have a complete brief, we confirm when your proposal arrives.

Brief the team you need,
we'll name who does what.

A scoped, itemised proposal naming PixelCrayons' role as your point of contact and ValueCoders' role as the engineering team, under one account owner throughout.
