Who does what

One contact runs your build,
with two teams behind it.

01

You deal with one contact and sign one proposal

You brief PixelCrayons once. We scope the build and write one proposal that covers all of it. We stay your account owner from start to finish, so you never juggle two suppliers for one project.

Every engagement
02

Custom web applications

Applications built around how your business works, instead of a template stretched to fit. Think internal tools, customer portals and product platforms. Our sibling company ValueCoders builds them.

ValueCoders
03

IoT builds

IoT means devices and sensors that send data over the internet. ValueCoders builds the whole chain: the device connections, the pipelines that collect the data and the dashboards your operators watch. It starts with how your devices talk to the cloud and ends with the reports. Your connected-device idea gets one build partner instead of a pile of separate tools.

ValueCoders
04

Product and SaaS engineering

A software product needs more after its first release. That means a multi-tenant set-up (many customers sharing one system), billing and the tools to run it. ValueCoders builds it under the same proposal.

ValueCoders
05

We still do the marketing and website work

Your build may need a marketing site, a store front end or SEO alongside it. That stays PixelCrayons' own work. The same account team runs both, so nothing falls into a gap between two companies.

PixelCrayons
How it works

From your brief to a proposal
that names both teams' work.

01
Start

Brief and a call

We sign an NDA and you tell us what you're building. PixelCrayons then confirms which parts are engineering (ValueCoders) and which are marketing or web (PixelCrayons).

02
Once the brief is complete

One proposal, both scopes named

We confirm when the proposal will arrive. It sets out each team's tasks, sign-off conditions and pricing in one document. Each team's part has its own lines.

03
Your decision

You sign off

You confirm the scope, the payment and the access we need. Nothing starts before this.

04
Typically 2 to 3 business days later

The team starts

ValueCoders puts the engineers in place for the agreed scope. PixelCrayons' account team stays your one contact for progress, problems and billing.

05
On the date in your proposal

First sprint demo

You see a demo at the end of each sprint, a short fixed block of work. Demos and written updates come through the same account team, whoever writes the code. ValueCoders stays named throughout.

Inside Prism

Your engagement, week to week,
in one workspace.

Prism is the client workspace where your requests, approvals, tasks and weekly reviews live.

Where the engagement includes it, your build runs in a Prism workspace you log into: requests, approvals, the task list and the weekly review, beside the repository your team already owns.

  • 01

    Requests and approvals

One queue, beside the repository your team owns.

  • 02

    Owned tasks

Every task has one owner and a date.

  • 03

    Weekly review

Each decision recorded, with the expectation attached.

How we report it, in Prism

The delivery record,
you can read without a stand-up.

What you receive in month one

Development is reported as artefacts in your own tools, not a status call. In the first month you receive the technical audit of the current codebase, the delivery plan broken into reviewed increments with acceptance criteria, and the environment map showing where code runs and who can deploy it. The weekly review in Prism lists what merged, what was reviewed, and what is blocked and by whom.

  • 01Technical audit: the current codebase, its risks, and the order of fixes
  • 02Delivery plan: increments with acceptance criteria and review owners
  • 03Environment map: development, staging and production, and who deploys
  • 04Weekly review in Prism: merged, in review, blocked, and the reason for each block
  • 05Definition of done: tests, review, accessibility and performance checks per increment

Questions

Frequently
asked.

ValueCoders, our sister company, does the engineering. That covers custom web applications, product engineering and IoT builds. PixelCrayons scopes the work, writes the single proposal and stays your account owner throughout. We also do any website, store or marketing work beside the build. ValueCoders is named plainly here and throughout delivery.

Yes, and this page covers it rather than a separate one. ValueCoders builds the whole thing: device connections, data pipelines and the dashboards your operators use. If your project is only IoT, tell us about the devices and the data you need from them. The proposal will then scope that build on its own.

Web Development (/development/web-development) is work PixelCrayons delivers itself: marketing sites, portals and web apps built by our own engineering team. This page is for custom software, product engineering and IoT work, which ValueCoders delivers. Not sure which fits? Brief either page and we'll send the proposal to the right team.

One account team, for the whole relationship. The proposal names ValueCoders and its role, and so does every update. But problems, billing and progress reports all go through the PixelCrayons account team you signed with. You never have to manage two suppliers yourself.

There's no flat rate card. The scope, the systems it connects to and the platform choice set the cost, not a page count. Every proposal is priced against your brief. It lists exactly what you get and which team delivers each part. Once we have a complete brief, we confirm the date you will receive your proposal.
