Which engagement shape fits?
Three questions, no made-up price.

This tool estimates a shape, not a dollar figure: no two scopes match closely enough for three quiz answers to guess a number. Answer three questions about what you need, how big it is and how fast. See which of our three engagement shapes fits, then check its indicative range on the rate card at /pricing.

Project

A defined build or campaign with a clear end state: a Shopify store, a replatform, a site redesign, a one-off audit. Fixed scope, fixed quote, milestone dates in the proposal; change requests re-quoted the same itemised way, never absorbed into surprise invoices. Most projects land inside the band shown here. Larger builds, such as a custom website or an AI agent pilot, are priced on their own rate-card rows below.

Best for: a clear brief with a finish line

This estimates a shape, and shows the same indicative range for it that the pricing page carries: a band, not a quote, and not a figure calculated from your answers. Want a real number? A written, itemised proposal replaces this estimate within 48 hours.

In one answer

This tool estimates which engagement shape fits your situation (project, retainer or dedicated pod), not a price. Three short questions score your answers against the three shapes we actually sell. The one with the highest score is shown, along with what it's best for and where to read more. If your answers tie, the tool says so instead of forcing a false winner: that's what a scoping call is for.

How this works

Three questions,
scored against three real shapes.

Each answer adds points toward Project, Retainer or Dedicated Pod: the same three shapes described on the pricing page, nothing invented for this tool. What you're trying to get done carries the most weight. Rough scope size adds a smaller nudge, and urgency breaks ties toward the shape that mobilises fastest. The shape with the highest score is your result.

It is not a price calculator, because a five-page brochure site and a headless replatform are both "a project" at very different prices. Once you know the shape, the rate card at /pricing shows its indicative range. Get the shape wrong and you end up comparing quotes for different things. The next step is the same for everyone: a short call, then an itemised proposal with a number in writing.

Questions

Frequently
asked.

Because three quick answers aren't your actual scope. The pricing page shows an indicative range for each shape, but the same shape can cost very differently depending on deliverables, seniority mix and timeline. So a number guessed from this quiz would be less accurate than the range already sitting one click away. This tool's job is narrower: tell you which shape fits, then send you to the real range and, after that, a real itemised number.

Your three answers each add points toward Project, Retainer or Dedicated Pod. What you're trying to accomplish carries the most weight, scope size adds a smaller amount, and urgency breaks close calls. Whichever shape has the highest score is shown as your result: there's no hidden step and no manual review before you see it.

The tool tells you it's a tie rather than forcing a single answer it isn't confident in. Plenty of real engagements start as one shape and move to another anyway: a project that becomes a retainer once it ships is common. A short call sorts a genuine tie out faster than more questions would.

Nothing automatic: the result is yours to use. If you want a real number attached to it, send us the same situation through the contact form or a call, and an itemised proposal comes back within 48 hours: deliverables, seniority mix, timeline and one price for the scope.
