310 Nutrition:
one team across the store, the app and every growth channel.
A clean-nutrition brand built on its community. We rebuilt its Shopify store around the path to subscription, launched an Android app for its most loyal customers, and ran search, social and answer-engine work as one programme instead of six.

310 Nutrition
Health & Nutrition · Direct-to-Consumer
310 Nutrition started in West Los Angeles with one bag of homemade shake mix. Founder Tim Sharif built the brand the slow way, through Facebook groups, meetups and recipe shares, and by its own count it has since delivered more than six million shakes across all 50 states.
It sells meal-replacement shakes, electrolyte drinks, superfoods and teas direct to customers through its own store, and its Facebook community is, in the brand's words, hundreds of thousands strong.
What had to change
- 01Paid acquisition was getting more expensive on Google and Meta as the health and nutrition category grew more crowded.
- 02Organic search was strong on the 310 name and thin on the generic searches new customers make before they know it.
- 03A large, loyal community was not yet turning into measurable sales.
- 04AI answer engines had started answering nutrition questions directly, and 310 needed to be a source they cite.
- 05Mobile lagged behind desktop, and the most loyal repeat customers had no app of their own.
- 06The store had grown with the brand and needed a rebuild focused on conversion and subscription.
The solution
A store rebuilt around conversion
The Shopify store was redeveloped so every page moves a visitor closer to a first order or a subscription: a restructured catalogue with clearer filtering, cross-sell and upsell where they help, a cleaner checkout, faster pages, and a more prominent, more reassuring presentation of the subscription offer.
An app for the most loyal customers
An Android app, published on Google Play, gives repeat customers their own channel: product browsing and ordering, push notifications for launches and offers, and a direct line into the 310 community.
Google Ads around purchase intent
Search campaigns rebuilt around buying-intent terms, with branded defence and Shopping for product-level visibility, YouTube to reach the core audience, and conversion tracking that follows the whole subscription journey rather than single orders.
Meta Ads built on the community
Creative drawn from real customers and their stories, tested against polished product creative, with retargeting sequences for trial customers, lapsed subscribers and repeat buyers, and server-side tracking to close the gaps iOS privacy changes left.
Answer-engine optimisation
Product and ingredient pages given clear, question-answering content, with FAQ, product and organisation structured data, so search engines and AI answer engines can read the catalogue and cite it.
Social that sells
A content calendar tied to launches and seasons, community management that turns conversation into clicks, and content from real community members to keep the brand's voice authentic as it scales.

The craft is in the small things: spacing, type, the weight of a button.

Every reason to buy, in one column
Benefits, flavour, size and quantity sit together beside the product, so the decision happens without scrolling.

Proof under the first fold
The brand's certifications and promises sit straight under the hero, where a first-time buyer looks.
The same site,

The store at 390 points wide, with the buy box and the trust signals kept close to the thumb.

The results
A store rebuilt around the path from first visit to subscription
An Android app that gives repeat customers a channel of their own
Paid search and social planned as one programme, measured on the subscription journey rather than single orders
Product and ingredient pages that search and answer engines can read and cite
A social calendar that turns the community's own voice into campaigns
What other teams can take from this
Measure the subscription, not the order
For a subscription brand, an ad that wins a cheap first order and loses the second is a bad ad. Tracking has to follow the customer past checkout before bidding can be trusted.
A community is creative, not just an audience
Real customers explaining why they stayed consistently outperform polished studio creative for a brand built on community. The best ad library is often already in the Facebook group.
Answer engines read structure
Clear questions, direct answers and structured data turn a deep content library into something an AI answer can quote. The depth was already there; it needed shape.
Why PixelCrayons
- One team across the store, the app and the growth channels, so every change was planned against the same subscription journey.
- Commerce engineers and performance marketers in the same room: tracking was designed with the campaigns that depend on it.
- Answer-engine work treated as part of search, not a separate experiment.
